A grocer that brings the shop to you
Foods Market sells the weekly shop — mealie meal, rice, sugar and cooking oil off the shelf, and fruit and vegetables off the farm run — delivered across Harare or ready to collect.
Built around the two things that decide a grocery shop: what it costs and how fresh it is
Everybody knows what they need to buy. What costs households money is the second trip for the thing that was out of stock, and the bag of tomatoes that had to be thrown away on Thursday.
So we do two jobs properly rather than twenty badly. The dry goods — meal, rice, sugar, oil — are held in depth and priced to be worth ordering rather than fetching. The produce is bought off the farm run three times a week and packed the morning it goes out, because the difference between good produce and waste is measured in days.
- Produce bought off local farms three times a week, packed the day it is delivered
- Every price, pack size and stock level published, so nothing is a surprise at the door
- Same-day delivery in Harare on orders placed before 10am, or free collection
- Not fresh when it reaches you? We replace it or refund it, that day
Mission, vision and the way we work
Three statements we are prepared to be held to.
Our mission
To put a full week of good food on a Harare table for less than it costs to go and fetch it, without anybody having to compromise on how fresh it is.
Our vision
A shop where the price on the page is the price at the door, the produce was picked this week, and a kitchen feeding four hundred people can buy on the same terms as a kitchen feeding four.
Our values
Sell what we actually have. Say when something is out rather than substituting it quietly. Take back anything that is not good enough. Answer the phone.
The things people ask first
